Benedikt Eder - Baritone


In the 2024/2025 season, the German baritone Benedikt Eder makes his debut as SHARPLESS Madama Butterfly, and he sings VOLTAIRE/PANGLOSS Candide, MERLOT Tristan & Isolde and the TITLE ROLE in the world premier of Valuschka by Peter Eötvös at Theater Regensburg.

Benedikt Eder studied voice at the Musikhochschule München with Prof. Andreas Schmidt. While he was studying at the Bayerischen Theaterakademie he sang a number of roles in opera productions at the Münchner Prinzregententheater with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester. He also had guest contracts at the Staatstheater Kassel, with the Carl Orff Festspielen Andechs, and with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester.

During his studies he performed various roles, including PAPAGENO, GRAF ALMAVIVA Le nozze di Figaro, EISENSTEIN Die Fledermaus, ZAR PETER 1 Zar und Zimmerman and FIGARO Il barbiere di Siviglia. He is also a much sought after performer of Art Song and Oratorio. His concert repertoire includes BARITONE SOLO Carmina Burana, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and Bach’s Passions.

He was awarded a scholarship by the Deutschen Bühnenvereins and he was a finalist in the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang 2016. From 2019-2022 Benedikt Eder was a member of the Fest- Ensemble at the Landesbühnen Sachsen, where his roles included, GUNTHER Lustigen Nibelungen, OTTOKAR Freischütz, PETER Hänsel und Gretel and MARULLO Rigoletto.

In the 2022/2023 season, he joined the Fest- Ensemble at Theater Regensburg, where his roles include HANS SCHOLL Weiße Rose, WILLEM Der Prozess, GESPETTO Pinocchios Abenteuer (Jonathan Dove) and HARLEKIN Ariadne auf Naxos.
