Nicholas Lee - Director


International Casting Director Nicholas Lee has gained recognition as a go-to specialist in operatic casting, working as a freelance casting consultant for classical music agencies, orchestras, choral societies, and theatres across Europe. He is sought after for curating lists of top level singers and for his excellent ear for voices.

Nicholas has worked with a wide range of companies throughout Europe, America and Asia. He was an Artist Manager for the Stockholm based international agency Svanholm Artists, for whom he remains a consultant, and he also worked as an Artistic Advisor for Robert Gilder & Co, London. He is a highly sought-after panelist and has been involved with many international competitions. Other companies he has worked with include Den Jyske, Danish National Opera, ETO, Buxton Festival, Volkstheater Rostock, Theater Nordhausen, Fulham Opera, Regents Opera, the London NYIOP International Auditions, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Carl Maria von Weber Conservatoire Dresden, the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen, MidAmerica Productions, International Opera Theatre Philadelphia, the Lion's Club International, and many more.


Edward Lee - Tenor & Consultant


In 2025, British/German tenor Edward Lee will be making his debut at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe as Erich in The Comedian Harmonists, he will be singing Tenor Solo in a Gala Concert Series at venues including the Berliner Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus Berlin, he will be joining prominent trumpet soloist Kevin Papst in a New Year’s Gala Concert Tour of Germany, and in 2026 he will be performing Evangelist and Tenor Solo in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion in Dortmund. 

Edward’s 2024 highlights included debuts at Opernhaus Zürich as Beadle Bamford Sweeney Todd and at the Komische Oper Berlin as Marten Nils Holgersson Elena Kats-Chernin. He sang a World Premier by Bob Chilcott in Dortmund, and concerts at The Royal Opera House, Muscat.

The 2022/23 season highlights include Beadle Bamford Sweeney Todd at Theater Aachen, his Debut at the Künstlerhaus München, a New Year’s Operetta Gala Tour with the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen, and Flute Midsummer Night’s Dream at Theater Gießen.

His 2021/2022 highlights included his Debut at the Konzerthaus Berlin and the Comödie Dresden, a return to the Berliner Philharmonie, and Toby Sweeney Todd and Kudrjasch Katja Kabanowa at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck.

And highlights for 2019/20 included Sailor Dido & Aeneas at Theater Hagen, Carmello Eine Nacht in Venice at Landesbühnen Sachsen, Tenor Solo Von Deutscher Seele Pfitzner with the Jena Philharmonie, Tenor Solo Grande messe des mortes Berlioz with the Singakademie Dresden, Pilatus Jesus Christ Superstar at MiR Gelsenkirchen and Guest Soloist at the Lions' International Convention in Milan. 

Edward Lee was born in the U.K. He received his Bmus (Hons) and MMus with distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London and he was a finalist with the Kathleen Ferrier Bursary for Young Singers. He played Filch The Beggar’s Opera Britten for the European Opera Center and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and he was a Buxton Festival Young Artist, where he sang Podesta La Finta Giardiniera Mozart. In the U.K. he sang with Aldeburgh Festival, British Youth Opera, English Touring Opera, Grange Park Opera, Lontano Ensemble, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and Opera North.

His contemporary repertoire includes Second Attendant A Full Moon in March by John Harbison, Adam The Diaries of Adam and Eve Josiah Moore, Demetrius Dream MacKenzie-Thurley, Odysseus/Paris/Goddess/Soldier In the Belly of a Horse Rachel Leach.

Edward has a busy concert diary. Highlights include Tenor Solo Les Noces Stravinsky at LSO St. Luke's, Auditorium Saint-Germain, Paris and Opera de Rouen, Tenor Solo Haydn The Creation with Sir David Willcocks, Tenor Solo Carmina Burana with the Jena Philharmonie, Guest Soloist in a Chinese New Year Opera Gala Tour with the Orchestra of St. Paul's, Covent Garden, and Guest Soloist at the Lions' International Convention at the McCormack Center, Chicago, USA.

Edward appeared live on Arte TV as Mikhail Laika the Spacedog Russell Hepplewhite at the Szeged National Theater, Hungary, which was also revived at the Avignon Grand Opera, France, and he sang the role of Harry Benn on Retrospect Opera’s Debut CD The Boatswain’s Mate, which won Opera Magazine UK’s CD of the Month.

He was an ensemble member at Stadttheater Pforzheim, Musiktheater im Revier, Gelsenkirchen, and the Landesbühnen Sachsen, and as a guest, he sang Pedrillo & Mottel Anatevka Theater Aachen, Pedrillo Die Entführung aus dem Serail at Musik & Theater Saar, Milo Milo, Maya and the Journey around the World Matteo Franceschini and Podesta La Finta Giardiniera Theater Magdeburg, and Tony Westside Story Theater Lübeck.
