Jana Marković - Mezzo-Soprano

 



In the 2025/26 season, Serbian mezzo-soprano Jana Marković sings GIULIETTA Les Contes d’Hoffman at Theater Nordhausen and FLORA La Traviata at the Staatstheater Braunschweig.

Her most recent performances include AMENOFI Mose in Egitto and OLGA Eugene Onegin at Stadttheater Giessen.

Jana made her opera debut in 2019 at Oper Leipzig as SANDMAN Hänsel und Gretel and as ORLOFSKY Die Fledermaus at the Belvedere Palace, Weimar. She studied at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" in Leipzig, where she completed her master's degree in opera in 2020 and in the same year, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Opera Course in Beeskow.

From 2020-2022, she was a member of the Opera Studio at the Landestheater Linz and in 2022 she made her debut as CARMEN at the Schlossgarten Festival, Neustrelitz.

Jana Marković was an ensemble member at Stadttheater Giessen 2022-2025. Her first role was FEMALE LEAD in Gefährliche Operette by Gordon Kampe, which was awarded the Operetta-Frog by Bayerischer Rundfunk.

Her repertoire also includes, HERMIA Midsummer Night's Dream, SESTO La clemenza di Tito, MADDALENA Rigoletto, and ARSAMENE Xerxes.

In 2023, Jana also performed the FEMALE LEAD in Gefährliche Operette to critical acclaim at the Staatsoper Stuttgart.
