Antonia Modes - Soprano
The young German soprano Antonia
Modes’ most recent performances include LAURETTA Gianni Schicchi at
the Landestheater Niederbayern and she recently won 2nd PRIZE in
the Elsie Kühn-Leitz Scholarship, 1st PRIZE in the Bavarian
Lions Music Prize for Singing, and was a FINALIST in the Franz Lehár
Competition Vienna, 2025.
Her opera credits include FLOWER GIRL Le nozze di Figaro at the Staatstheater Kassel, MOTH A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Prinzregententheater Munich, SECOND WOMAN Dido and Aeneas and LAURETTA Gianni Schicchi at Musiktheater im Reaktor, 2ND LADY Die Zauberflöte, SUSANNA Nozze di Figaro, and MOTHER Madama Butterfly at the Bad Immling Festival.
Antonia completed her Bachelor’s degree with distinction at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich under Prof. Daniela Sindram and guest professor Chen Reiss. She is currently pursuing advanced training in the concert master’s programme with soprano Melanie Männl.
As a concert soloist, Antonia’s highlights include SOPRANO SOLO Requiem (Mozart), SOPRANO SOLO Petite messe solennelle (Rossini), and SOPRANO SOLO Psalm 42 (Mendelssohn). Her scholarship awards include the Fritz Wunderlich Society, the Richard Wagner Association, the Deutschlandstipendium and the Orlandus Lassus Association.
Antonia has participated in masterclasses with Ian Bostridge, Brigitte Fassbaender, Christiane Iven, and Julie Kaufmann. She specializes in art song and has performed in Sonic Blossom at the Villa Stuck and at the Hidalgo Festival, under Christian Gerhaher’s patronage. She has studied with Gerold Huber since October 2024 and frequently gives recitals with her pianist.
She has worked with renowned orchestras including the Bavarian Radio Orchestra and with conductors including Cornelia von Kerssenbrock, Nicholas Cleobury, and Marcus Bosch.
